TIP Conducts a “Know Your Right Time-Out” Session for Students on Basic Human Rights

TIP continues its “know your right time out session” in two local government areas in Imo State.
In a time-out with students at Egbu Girls Secondary School Owerri-North Local Government Area and Obazu Girls Secondary School Mbaitoli Local Government Area in Imo State, TIP’s program officer Ogbonna Ndidiamaka and volunteers educated the students on their fundamental human rights, signs of violation, and avenues to seek redress. The interactive sessions had the girls in a safe space, discussed challenges, and asked questions on various areas of their human rights. The session ended with most students understanding their inherent human rights and where to report violations in simple terms.
TIP’s Know your rights time-out sessions are part of its project supported by the Malala Fund to create a space where girls understand their rights and allay fears that prevent them and/or their friends from coming to school.
