TIP Conducts Training for Religious/Traditional Leaders and Journalists in Implementing the Election Education Advocacy Project with Other CSOs in Adamawa State

Thanks to the support from Malala Fund, TIP organized a two-day training program for religious us and traditional leaders from various communities in Adamawa state, as well as journalists. The training focused on gender-transformative education for children and the state-level education manifesto, which was developed by TIP, ACE charity, CENTER LSD, LEDAP and SCAAD, and other partner CSOs.

These training sessions raised awareness among stakeholders about the importance of education and why the media and every community should prioritize it through their leaders. Additionally, it educated participants on how they can hold the government accountable for providing free, safe, and quality education to every child in Adamawa state.

By the end of the training, each stakeholder pledged their individual commitment to enhancing the state of education in Adamawa state. This training program will go a long way in ensuring that every child in Adamawa state has access to quality education, which is crucial for their growth and development.

Additionally, TIP, ACE charity, CENTER LSD, LEDAP,  and SCAAD organized a town hall meeting for the girl child on their right to education, along with political candidates on the state-level education manifesto in Adamawa state. During the meeting, the group premiered the documentary on “Free, Safe, and Quality Education,” trained candidates on the roles of political stakeholders in promoting education, and had schoolgirls present on how the education system in the state is affecting their lives.

The highlight of the event was the commitment made by the candidates to provide 12 years of free, safe, and quality education in Adamawa state. We are proud to have facilitated this critical conversation and applaud the candidates for their commitment to education. This commitment will significantly impact the state’s education system and the lives of its children.
