International Women’s Day Celebration: Break the Bias of Silence ​

TIP spent the international women’s day at Ketu- The team started the day at Richway college Ketu educating students of their human rights and sexual and gender-based violence norms.
The women at Ketu market were not left out. TIP’s team held a one-on-one sensitization campaign to drum up support for gender equality and women’s roles in preventing sexual and gender-based violence in their communities. The campaign titled “Sexual and gender-based violence: E no go happen, but if it happens, where I fit go” provided information on the gender laws and handed leaflets on the directory of NGOs that provide pro bono services for survivors.
In addition, TIP issued a press statement calling on the Nigerian government to end all forms of gender inequality and discrimination in Nigeria. Find the full statement here
