TIP provides information on Radio on the Rights of a Child


Inspiration FM hosted Bridget Andrew, TIP’s Programme Manager, to address the pressing issue of child labour in Lagos state and discuss the challenges and the way forward. 

The discussion focused on the trend of people from urban areas of Nigeria using underprivileged or underage children from rural areas for child labour. Ms. Andrew defined the concept of child labour and its dangers to the child, including the implications for those who commit these violations. She explained the Child protection laws and methods of seeking redress, who, how, and where to report such child rights violations.

She emphasized the significance of reporting such violations promptly and ensuring that the rights and well-being of these vulnerable children are protected.

She emphasized to the radio listeners the dangers and the appropriate channels to report instances of child labor or child rights violations. The discussion covered who to contact, how to initiate the reporting process, and where to seek assistance. The aim was to raise awareness and encourage active participation in safeguarding the rights of children in Lagos state and shed more light on these critical aspects.
