TIP Trains Communities on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence and Educational Rights of the Girl Child in Kano State

TIP is executing a project entitled “increasing communities’ awareness on menstrual hygiene, sexual and gender-based violence and educational rights in Kano state. The goal is to break down barriers that prevent girls from accessing basic education and to educate communities on the importance of girl child education and combating sexual and gender-based violence in Kano State. TIP has provided rigorous training to community members from Nassarawa and Rimin Gado local government areas on human rights framework as outlined in the 1999 constitution, the role of communities in promoting quality and safe basic education, strategies for monitoring educational violations, documentation of educational violence, sexual and gender-based violence laws, guiding principles for CEWC’s roles and responsibilities, and monitoring plans for each local government.
